Industry Canada announces changes in procedure for declaration of conformity and certification of terminal equipment

Industry Canada has recently released a notice to all terminal equipment certificate holders, laboratories, and purchasing departments, announcing that as of January 19, 2002, the procedure for declaration of conformity and certification of terminal equipment (DC-01) is the ONLY procedure allowed for the marketing of terminal equipment in Canada.

For equipment certified prior to January 19, 2002 Industry Canada will still allow certification labels to be applied until January 1, 2003, when self-marking will be mandatory and Industry Canada will cease label production.

To assist manufacturers in gaining conformity and registration of terminal equipment (DC-01), Industry Canada has set up detailed information which is available on their website at http://spectrum.ic.gc.ca/~cert/.
