BABT presents Energis with Metering & Billing Certificate

On 21st September, Jean-Louis Evans, Managing Director of BABT (on the right in the picture) presented a Metering and Billing Certificate to Craig Boundy, Chief Operating Officer of Energis with Paul Mitchell, Energis' Head of Billing and Revenue Assurance and the Energis Billing Team looking on.

Energis is one of the UK's specialist Communications Providers, providing a range of services to Business Clients. Key customers include Internet Service Providers with household names like Wanadoo and One Tel who have the services they provide hosted on the Energis Network.

With the introduction of the Communications Act 2003, large Communications Providers are required to apply for, and obtain, certification for the accuracy of the Total Metering and Billing Systems used to provide customers with their bills.

Energis has now become the first Communications Provider to receive a BABT Certificate specifically covering billing accuracy for an Internet Service Provision product.

In presenting the Certificate, Jean-Louis Evans congratulated Energis on its achievement - It has joined quite an elite club of Communications Providers who are able to demonstrate that the systems and processes used to produce bills comply with the required levels of accuracy, as stipulated by Ofcom.

Paul Ebling, Metering & Billing Services Manager at BABT stated, "BABT looks forward to working with Energis as it seeks to extend the scope of its approval to cover other services, such as Carrier Pre-Select Telephony and Number Translation Services."
