We can assist by arranging an initial optional consultation; definition of a test schedule and by arranging the production of a TCF. Evaluation of the final TCF and certification then enables the manufacturer to issue the Declaration of Conformity. The scheme makes use of test results originating from a suitably accredited test facility. In some cases certification is achievable on an administrative basis or with only limited testing. We expect to conclude typical applications with a day and a half's engineering effort.

Our EMC certification scheme operates under the Technical Construction File (TCF) route to compliance with EMC. The categories of equipment within our scope as a Competent Body include telecommunications terminal equipment and information technology equipment. However we envisage that the scope of the scheme will be expanded in the future.

Some situations for choosing our certification scheme are where:

• Suitable test results have already been obtained
• Those test results are required to be extended to cover a range of products
• Those test results are required to cover brand name products
• The standards used are appropriate but are not yet harmonised
• It is chosen to follow the TCF route in preference to the Standards route
• Any other situation exists for which technical judgement is necessary.
• We expect to conclude typical applications with a day and a half's engineering effort. However complex equipment may take longer.
