Information collected from site users

If you use certain sections of the TÜV Product Service Ltd (TPS) sites (which also includes the BABT, BillIntegrity and TUV-MITC sites), certain information is automatically collected to improve the service and experience we provide. This includes ensuring that certain pop-ups will only be displayed once every 24 hours using cookies which may be stored on your machine by your browser. You can set your browser to disable cookies.

When you request a page from the site's web server, the server automatically collects some information about your system, including your IP address. TPS collects the minimum information necessary to make the service work - this information is essential to send the pages back across the Internet to the right computer. TPS uses 'WebTrends' to analyse traffic to the site.

Registration

We ask you to register in order to receive our email newsletter, document library updates and to provide you with privileged access to feature and resource rich sections of our sites.

This will require you to provide basic information such as email address and in some cases your name and company. Information such as user job function, company sector and specific areas of interest is optional. By not answering optional questions TPS may limit what services and features can be accessed.

Use of Information

The information is held in accordance with the Data Protection Act, 1998/2001. We do not sell your information. Your information is only distributed within the TÜV Product Service group of companies.

We may, however, make use of information to manage the system and gather broad information about our users in general.

You can amend your details or unsubscribe from our member registration by using the update profile section. We don't intend to abuse the trust of our users by offending them with spam.

Opt-In Features

As a TPS site user you have control over the level of information you may receive. You will only receive additional information from us if you indicate your consent by checking the "areas of interest" boxes on the update profile section.

Correcting and Updating

At all times a registered member of the TPS site has control over the accuracy of the personally identifiable information that the user provides. If you wish to correct or update the personal information you have provided, simply click on the update profile section.

Deleting Information

All TPS registered members can at any time remove information from their user profile. To do this, simply click on the update profile section.

Unsubscribing

To unsubscribe from the registered member section of the website, simply click on the update profile section or alternatively send an email to info@tuvps.co.uk.

Changes to this privacy policy

TPS reserves the right to change this privacy policy at any time by posting changes online. It is your responsibility to refer to this privacy policy on accessing this site.
